WHERE
Goat Lake Loop Hike (snowgrass flats). 2nd time for us doing the loop, and this time around we met up with a few Wisconsinites who recently moved to Seattle. It was fun speaking "Wisconsin" with Alyssa and Ryan. We talked about our dogs, more about our dogs, and then a little about ourselves. The hike was beautiful as always! It was a clear Saturday afternoon, so we could get a perfect view of Mt. Adams. Alyssa and Ryan brought along Wrigley, their Burmese Mountain Dog. Finn was really intimidated by her size (90lbs)! I can't believe we didn't get a picture!
The lake was essentially 100% covered in snow in the middle of July. We knew it would be covered, but it was crazy to see that much snow in the middle of July. The last time we were there it was in late Fall, and there was no hint of snow anywhere. This also resulted in very few available camp sites. We lucked out though by hiking past the lake and along the ridge. It was more of a remote spot as well, tucked away from all the campers at or near Goat Lake.
FAILS
We forgot liquor for sitting around the campfire. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I blame Jenna
