Adventure doesn't always have to reside in nature. This Sunday Jenna and I participated in an urban adventure! "What does that mean?" you might ask.
Portland, OR experienced a heat wave this weekend with temperatures ranging from high 80's to low 90's! I would consider living without air conditioning in this type of heat as living reckless! Our Sunday Fun-Day started off with coffee and "The Office" as any great day should!
We then "hiked" a mile south of our apartment to Hedge House , to participate in 3 dollar bloody mary's! We soaked in the sunshine on their patio and enjoyed a great hummus plate with our Bloodies.
We then met up with our friends Lauren and Kyle at The Bollywood Theater for an additional round of drinks! The Bollywood Theater is a glimpse into India’s street-food world, in all its colorful chaos. True Mumbaikar snacks, low-budget adventure, and a new Indian food market all in one spot! While we enjoyed these cool refreshments we spotted a nice little barbershop next door! I've been in need of a good trim and decided today was the day to Get-Er-Done! While Jenna, Lauren, and Kyle kept The Bollywood Theater in business, I skipped across the street and got my hair did!
Next on deck was Imperial Taproom for a flight of brews. While indulging in summer plans and aspirations for our future, we enjoyed some crisp ales and flavorful stouts! Imperial Taproom touts 16 local brews and up to 400 of the best bottled American craft beers! With our thirst not quite quenched, we agreed for another stop at Richmond Bar! Their outdoor seating unfortunately felt like a sauna, as it was all Aspen and exposed directly to the sunlight! However, We weren't disappointed with their wine and fine drink selections!
We agreed the last stop of the day was going to be at Tidbit Cart Pod! If you've never experienced a pod of food trucks, add it to your list! We counted at least 15 different trucks with various foods and names including Love Belizean, Namu Korean & Hawaiian, Buki Japanese, Ingrid's Scandinavian, Smaaken waffle sandwiches, Pyro Pizza, Scout beer, the list goes on. Ranging from Italian, Mexican, Indian, Greek, Hawaiian, Korean, Japanese, Scandinavian, American, Beer & Wine, and Frozen Deserts! No doubt this was a perfect way to end our Sunday Fun-Day! : )).
